From our 30 years experience of teaching people to cook, we know how to go from the basics to entertaining with panache, giving you the support, guidance and tools you need every step of the way. You will be amazed by what you can learn in a single week from this solid introductory course.

You will leave with a delicious and reliable repertoire of recipes and menus from simple homemade bread to lunch and dinner, featuring gorgeous salads and soups and sublime starters, perfect pasta dishes, fish, meat and vegetarian main courses to impress and a whole host of sweet treats to delight.

Here at Ballymaloe Cookery School we are proud of living the total, farm to fork, experience: it is integral to our approach and your learning with us. You will have the opportunity to see around the farm, glasshouses and gardens, feed the hens, watch the cows being milked, and maybe even try your hand at it.

These summer courses are a fabulous way to spend your summer in the country. Learning during the days, eating well, and then soaking up the surroundings in the evenings. Wandering through the herbaceous borders in full bloom. Playing a game of tennis, see the cows in the fields, the chickens, the abundant organic crops in the glass houses. Walking the long sandy beaches, and enjoying panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean up on the cliffs. Enjoy fishing down on Ballycotton pier, and the craic in the local pubs, and maybe a special dinner at Ballymaloe house or one of the other local restaurants.
