This course will show you how to manage 10 of the essential summer vegetable crops from sowing to harvest.

The course will be given by Tom Petherick our head Gardener and author of 3 books.

Topics will include

  • Getting the soil ready
  • Fertilizing
  • Sowing seed
  • Planting out
  • Weeding
  • Watering
  • Pest and disease control and general management of the crop
  • Choice of variety/cultivar will also be covered plus after harvest and storage requirements
  • Composting crop waste 

 

Good to know:

Aim to arrive 15 mins before the start time.

A staff member will meet you on arrival and there will be some tea, coffee and sweet treats to enjoy before starting the course.

Please wear weather appropriate clothes such as wellies, wet weather gear and sensible shoes for going out around gardens

Course notes will be provided.

There will be a full lunch provided at the end of the class.

 

 

What if my plans change and I cant attend ?

We understand that things can crop up and sometimes people have to cancel their place, we allow you to allocate your space to a friend or family member at no extra cost right up to the day of the course.
