BALLYMALOE COOKERY SCHOOL COVID-19 POLICY STATEMENT

Updated Wednesday 24th June 2020

A huge thank you to each and everyone for your support and understanding during this challenging Covid pandemic. We were deeply touched by your response and are now delighted to announce that the Ballymaloe Cookery School will reopen its doors on Monday 29th June 2020 (albeit with much smaller numbers).

In line with HSE and Irish Government guidelines we have adjusted our working practices as set out below.

  • Reduced the number of students in our classrooms significantly, to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

  • We have ample hand-washing and sanitizing facilities with clear information on correct hand washing techniques.

  • Each kitchen has an entrance and exit to facilitate a one-way system.

  • Each of our kitchens is fitted with a camera and monitor to aid the teaching staff in ensuring the best student experience.

  • We continue to update our team on guidelines as set out by WHO, HSE and Irish Government recommendations.

  • We continue to monitor our COVID-19 response and amend the plan in consultation with our team.

  • We inform all of our team of essential hygiene and respiratory etiquette and physical distancing requirements.

  • We have adapted the workplace to facilitate physical distancing

  • We keep records to facilitate contact tracing.

  • We have a protocol for our team to follow should anyone develop symptoms of COVID-19.

The situation continues to evolve and we will adapt our working practices accordingly.

The health of our students and staff is our first priority and we will continue to work with Government bodies to ensure best practice at all times

We are greatly looking forward to welcoming students again.

Stay safe and look after each other,

Darin Allena
