How to get to us

Many people wish to know the logistics of how to get to the school before they book a course, so here are some details.

By Airplane

Cork Airport

Our nearest airport is Cork.  You may be able to get a connecting flight to Cork form some of the large hubs in Europe, however mostly you will be flying into Dublin.  The simplest way to get to us from Cork Airport is by Taxi.  There are generally plenty of Taxis at the airport and the trip should cost you €60 (discuss the price before you go).  If you want to book a taxi, we recommend East Cork Cabs  + 353 21 463 3444.

It is also possible to get to us by public transport.  You can get a bus to Cork City Centre then a train or bus to Midleton where you can get a Taxi out to the Cookery School.

Our Address is Ballymaloe Cookery School, Shanagarry, Co. Cork.  P25 R274.  It is well worth knowing the Eircode P25 R274 which makes it easier for the Taxi driver.

Dublin Airport

Most of our students who arrive by airplane will arrive into Dublin Aiport, it is Irelands largest Airport and is easy to get a direct or connecting flight to from around the world.

The easiest way to get to us from Dublin Airport is via Aircoach.  They have an hourly service direct from Dublin Airport to Cork City Centre.  You can then get a Taxi or public transport to us as detailed above under cork airport.  Taxis are readily available in Cork City Centre and the cost is about €60 to the cookery school.

Shannon Airport

Some students may get a direct flight to Shannon.  In this case the best way to get to cork city is via bus

Car Rental

All 3 airports have plenty of car rental facilities.  Irish roads are better than you might have heard, but keep your speed down once you get off the main roads.  If you enter our Eircode P25 R274 into Google Maps it will take you directly to the cookery school.
