With the rise of social media, and especially photo-sharing apps like Instagram, it seems like everyone is interested in developing their photography skills these days. And, with photo-editing software becoming more and more sophisticated and user-friendly, it's easier than ever to produce beautiful shots. For anyone with a business, it's an absolute must to get to grips with creating photographic content for your website and social media channels. Then, there are just those of us who want to capture a moment, an experience, or just the beauty around us every day.

This year, we have added two brand new photography courses to our short course calendar:

Food Photography with Shantanu Starick | Saturday, 2nd July

Shantanu Starick is a nomadic photographer, whose photographs capture the diversity of life across many continents. His food photography is incredibly evocative and beautifully styled, and we can look forward to his new book 'Grown and Gathered' which is being published by Pan McMillan in October 2016

Garden Photography with Ben Russell | Monday, 20th June & Monday, 8th August

Ben Russell is an accomplished photographer and tutor. He has had over 6,000 photographs published and maintains a library of practical gardening images. He and his wife, garden writer Joyce Russell have produced over 500 magazine features together and are authors of ‘The Polytunnel Book — Fruit and Vegetables All Year Round’, a best-selling guide to organic growing, undercover

Both these courses take the format of day-long workshops, suitable to all skill levels. Participants are encouraged to bring their own photographic equipment to get maximum benefit from these workshops; however, it will also be possible to use camera-phones and try out the instructors' equipment also. Both courses include a delicious 3-course lunch at the cookery school.
