Thyme & Plaice

Suns, bread’s rising

Thyme passing
With the seasons
Sprigs showing
Turnips or swedes
Rooted in soil
Rolling boils
Slow roasts
Toasts to new friends
To seasons that have gone before
Hens laying
Tables full of feasts
Peeking through oven doors
Steamed Salmon
Roes of
sowing herbs
Relishin
Chutneys
cherishing
game seasons
Baking sugars
the sweet geranium herb
Foraging mushroomss in fields
seasons can bring
Some healthy yields
meals
from the soil
Glasshouses
shout out to
The gardeners
With their green beans
Nurturing them
seed to feed
nourishing
flocks of chickens
Eggs cracked
yolks
In mayonnaise
The butters
Milked
warm
Casseroles
Stews
brewing
Up some fermented storms
Puddings
torte tarts
Arti choke
Flavors from all over the globe
Sunflowers
Jersey breeds
Peigie and her pals
In their palais
Coulis’s made
From last seasons crop
red cabbge
Gets redder with the first frost
It takes seconds
For sweet onions to burn
And seconds on the lips
The belly of pork
Stuffed with
Fruit
juicy
hungry for more
Tomatoes
Like you’ve never tasted before
Stories unfold
When we look at our plates
Pouring over
Gravy’s
seasonings
Spicey sauces
On lambs

Flaming peppers
Steaming potatoes
Peeling by hand
More salt
If its a bit bland

Blanched
Bright greens
dancing mustard seeds
Round pans
Pears poached
Parsley chopped
Whipped
Creamy cheese
Crackers
With crunch
Sour sorbets
Doughs bubbling for days
Pre heats
Soft sets
Sweated
And glazed
Braised
Mediums
And rares
Burnt to a crisp
If the recepie requires
Skewers
Saute’s
Caramel
More butter for sure
Nutty pralines
Ice creams
Plates full
Of dreams
gardens
budding
blooming breads
Flower beds
bursting at seams
Chopping
Slicing
And dicing
Blue plasters galore
chewing on
fruit of the land
served
in sea shells
seaweeds
in puddings
sweet a savoury
pastrys
crumbs
crops
of love
aged oak smoked mackrel
little Wheels of milleens
apples
pumpkins
pickles
toffee trickling
over cakes
licking off spoons
knives and forks
steady
meals ready
enjoy your
slow food
